LEGO 42690 Forest Tea Party: A Pocket-Money Priced Delight

Your wallet can breathe a sigh of relief. LEGO has unveiled the 42690 Forest Tea Party, a charming set that won't require you to remortgage the house. Priced at just ₹999 in India, this is the kind of set that makes you feel good about adding it to your collection.

This autumn-themed Friends set packs 116 pieces and includes two minidolls, Aliya and Paisley, both sporting fantastic torso prints. Paisley's unique hair and hat combination is a nice touch, making her stand out. The set also features three adorable animals: Hopper the frog, a new squirrel named Fern, and a snail. It's a small detail, but giving the squirrel a name adds a bit of personality to the build.

The main build recreates a delightful forest tea party scene. The centrepiece is a spinning table laden with cupcakes and a large cake, surrounded by four cups of tea and a teapot. The toadstool-shaped stools are a cute addition, though they do rely on stickers. A small forest home, possibly the snail's house, adds to the playful atmosphere. Even the tree foliage is a vibrant orange, perfectly capturing the autumn theme. It’s a compact set, but it delivers on charm and playability for its size.

The pricing at ₹999 is a welcome relief in a world of increasingly expensive LEGO sets. It's the perfect size to add to an existing order to qualify for a Gift With Purchase, or simply to pick up on its own without breaking the bank. This set is a strong contender for anyone looking for a small, delightful build with good minifigure and animal representation. It proves that LEGO can still deliver value and charm at a lower price point.

At ₹999, that's 11kg of decent mangoes or four months of Spotify Premium. LEGO.in has it for ₹999. Toycra lists it at ₹999 but may be out of stock. Code ABHINAV12 takes 12% off full-price sets at Toycra, minimum order ₹500. Expect it to be readily available.

Verdict: BUY NOW. The price is right — grab it.
