Frogust is Here: Get Ready for Amphibian Builds and Mech Frogs

The Brothers Brick is heralding August as "Frogust," a month dedicated entirely to LEGO amphibian creations. This isn't some hyper-competitive build challenge; it's more of a lighthearted, tongue-in-cheek event celebrating all things frog. Think of it as the LEGO equivalent of a summer festival, but with more brick-built croakers and fewer overpriced food stalls.

The unofficial ambassador for Frogust appears to be Simon Liu, who has apparently built with "just about every LEGO frog imaginable." He's kicked off the month with a rather impressive build: a mech piloted by an enormous plush frog. If that's the starting point, one can only imagine what other frog-themed creations will hop into the spotlight throughout August. The Brothers Brick plans to highlight the best of these, so keep an eye on their site if you're keen on seeing more amphibious artistry.

While specific set numbers for any potential new frog-themed releases are not yet known – and this article focuses more on fan builds and challenges – the spirit of Frogust might inspire some unique creations. We're not talking about official LEGO sets here, but rather the ingenuity of builders using existing frog elements in creative ways. It’s a reminder that sometimes the most fun comes from focusing on a quirky theme and seeing what the community can do.

No specific set numbers have surfaced yet, so an exact Indian price is impossible to determine. If LEGO were to release official frog-themed sets inspired by this trend, expect them to be priced competitively, perhaps similar to other small-to-medium themed sets. This event, being fan-led, doesn't have a direct retail equivalent. That's roughly the cost of 10 large plates of paneer butter masala. MyBrickHouse and Toycra will be the places to watch for any official amphibian-themed sets that might emerge. Code ABHINAV12 takes 12% off full-price sets at Toycra, minimum order ₹500. Expect a 4–6 week lag from global launch for any new releases.

This event is a celebration of creativity within the LEGO community, focusing on a specific, charming theme. It’s less about hunting down the latest exclusive and more about appreciating the imaginative builds that emerge from a shared passion. We'll be keeping an eye out for the most spectacular frog creations throughout the month.
